35 year old Serdar Kadakal died last night after suffering a heart attack which was allegedly caused by the intense tear gas police have used against demonstrators in Istanbul's Kadıköy district for the last three days.

Kadakal reportedly suffered a heart attack while leaving his workplace, the Shaft Bar where he was working as tonmeister, at around 11 p.m.last night. His friends took him to Kadıköy Şifa Hospital where he however couldn't be rescued despite all the efforts by the medical staff.

Kadakal's friends said he was suffering from a heart problem and had a pace maker, and has been continuously complaining about the intense tear gas he was subjected to for the last three days, both at his workplace and his house in Kadıköy.

Police have recently brutalized the demonstrators who are taking to the streets to protest against the another death caused by police violence, of Ahmet Atakan, in the province of Hatay on 9 September.
