Following the raid of HPG (People Defence Force) guerillas on Gendarme Commandership, Police Station and police lodging in Pervari district of Siirt previous day, emergency rule was declared in the county. While the entrance and exit of the district is not permitted, 38 people were detained.

While the influence of the raid in Pervari is continuing, Turkish army turned the district into a military post. Nearly 50 houses were raided. While 38 people were detained, the district has been out of communication for 2 days. The phone lines are out of use and there is a power cut in the whole district.

There was a military transfer to the district from Siirt 3. Commando Brigade Commandership. Local sources stated that Turkish army got a severe blow with the raid of guerillas and remarked that there have been violent clashes in Herekol region for two days.

Tight security measures in front of Siirt State Hospital, where wounded soldiers and policemen were taken after the raid, are continuing.
