43 tons of food aid sent by Kurdish and French groups to Lavrio

The Democratic Kurdish Council of France, the trade union CGT and Roja Sor donated 43 tons of food to the Kurdish refugees living in Lavrio camp, in Greece.

The Democratic Kurdish Council of France (CDK-F) and the French labor union (CGT) have been providing food aid to the Lavrio refugee camp at periodic intervals for more than three years.

As part of the food aid project, the 33rd campaign was organized to benefit the refugee camp.

On Thursday, a 43-ton truck full of food aid left France for the Lavrio camp. The aid reached the camp residents on Sunday.

The food aid was welcomed by the residents of the camp, and included dry food, baby milk, children's needs, cleaning supplies, mattresses, blankets, bed linen and white clothes.

Some 30 residents of the camps helped unload the truck for two hours.

In addition, within the scope of the project, the Roja Sor Association donated 5,000 euros. With this financial aid, food was purchased directly in Greece.

Speaking on behalf of the project, CGT activists Jacques Leleu and Richard Hannard said they were pleased to be part of this humanitarian project.

Activists said they will continue to do everything they can to fulfill their humanitarian duties.

Speaking to ANF, Leleu and Hannard stressed that French and European humanitarian institutions and organizations should assist and develop projects in this direction.
