After the amendments in the anti-terror law were published in the official gazette and came into force yesterday 60 children in Adana and Mersin and 5 children in Mardin who had been arrested within the scope of this law for throwing stones to the police have been released. While 20 more children remained in Adana and Mersin prisons, according to the figures of Ministry of Justice there were 196 Kurdish children imprisoned within the scope of anti-terror law.
On the other hand, 5 children in Maltepe prison in Istanbul charged with the same crimes were given solitary confinement punishment. It is reported that 5 children who had been arrested for writing slogans on the walls were given cell punishment as of today.
