Activists in London will protest Paris Massacres in front of French Embassy

On the 10th anniversary of the First Paris Massacre, Kurds and their friends will gather in front of the French Embassy in London, to demand justice for all victims of state-backed femicides.

The Kurdish People’s democratic Assembly of Britain (NADEK) will organize a protest in front of the French Embassy in London today. The demo will begin at 1pm with the slogan ‘Jin Jiyan Azadi’. The action is organized to demand justice for all victims of state-backed femicides.

NADEK said in a statement that the action is also a tribute to Sakine Cansız (Sara), Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn), Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî), who were brutally executed in Paris on 9 January 2013, as well as for Emine Kara (Evîn Goyî), M. Şirin Aydın (Mîr Perwer) and Abdurrahman Kızıl, the victims of the second Paris Massacre, carried out on 23 December 2022.

The statement added: “Ten years on, there has been no justice for Sakine, Fidan and Leyla or any of the thousands of other women assassinated, raped, tortured and murdered by the Turkish state. We demand the UK, France, the European Union and  international organizations take action to hold Turkey to account and to bring the real murderers to justice.”

The statement continued: “The UK, France, EU and the international community must launch a proper and thorough investigation into the chain of command which led to these deaths.”

The action will be at 1pm in front of the French embassy in London (58 Knightbridge, SW1X 7JT).
