Al-Nusra leader killed in Serêkaniyê
ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham) linked Ebu Huzeyfe El Yemam brigade has announced on its website that al-Nusra leader (emir) Enes El-Midfi’nin (Ebu Leys) was killed in clashes with YPG (People's Defense Units) fighters in the city of Serêkaniyê on 14 September.
The report said that Enes El Midfi had earlier been a member of the Free Syrian Army and joined the al-Nusra Front one month ago. The emir was leading the Huzeyfa Bin Yemama brigade affiliated to ISIS and al-Nusra Front.
It is said that the emir was coordinating the attacks against Serêkaniyê on 14 September when armed gang groups, including ISIS units and some brigades affiliated to FSA, launched an expansive attack against the Kurdish city.
The Turkey-backed armed groups which had gathered all their units in Damascus, Aleppo, Rakka, Hummus, Dear, İdlib and Hama in Serêkaniyê region before the attack suffered heavy losses in clashes with YPG fighters.
