Amed rally: The struggle continues in 4 parts of Kurdistan!

Speaking at the rally, DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven said: "We will fight against what is being done in the four parts of Kurdistan. We will continue our resistance."

The 'Democratic Solution for a Honourable Life' rally promoted by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in Amed (Diyarbakır) was attended by thousands of people. People of Amed and surrounding cities joined the massive demonstration to highlight their demand for peace and solution.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) co-chair Mehmet Aslan started his speech by greeting the audience. "A democratic solution to solve the problem is what is needed and we have been saying this for years, however the AKP government has answered with war to these demands."

Aslan continued: "In the face of people's demands for peace, the AKP imposed isolation. For a period of non-conflict to begin, isolation must end as soon as possible. Mr Öcalan has always expressed his views in every possible venue in favour of Turkey's democratic peace."

When Leyla Güven appeared on the stage, the crowd chanted: "Amed is proud of you".

The HDP Hakkari MP, who was on a hunger strike for 200 days, addressed the people saying: "I am proud of you!"

Güven added: “I want to say that when we set out, the Kurdish people, the heroes, from all over put their lives at stake to remove the isolation of Mr. Öcalan. We have lost 9 comrades and friends on this road."

Güven continued : "We will fight against what is being done in the four parts of Kurdistan. We will continue our resistance. Of course, our work was incomplete. One of the greatest achievements of this struggle was thanks to the mothers. I salute all our people who came here today. I didn't believe I'd ever meet you again, but I'm here today. I am very happy for that."
