A young boy was killed and another seriously injured when Turkish soldiers opened fire at the border with Iran.

Nurettin Karakoç, 21, died while Feyyaz Karadeniz, 20, suffered severe injuries. The boys were going to cross the border in order to buy fuel. Small smuggling is a survival necessity in border areas. The incident happened in the village of Beydoğan (Van).
