At the opening session of the project “We are starting to change the world from our place! ”, Diyarbakýr Mayor Osman Baydemir said that the bomb placed in Dersim Municipal Building was “the rehearsal for a massacre”.
The opening reception of the project was organized in Sümerpark Reception Hall and called “The role of youth in good management and participation”. The meeting was attended by Diyarbakýr Mayor Osman Baydemir, Romanian Parliamentarian Edler Andras, Hungary Parliamentarian Kriztan Kapus. At his speech at the meeting, Diyarbakýr Mayor Baydemir remarked that a normal living can’t be expected unless the needs in social order are fulfilled.
“People unable to use their mother tongue in many cities of the world mustn’t be neglected. Young people here are the young leaders of the future. Would any of you permit the export of arms sale? Or would you attempt to occupy another country only for the benefits of your own country? I don’t believe that this will occur when these young people will become leader.” said Baydemir.
Following the session, Baydemir answered journalists questions concerning the bomb placed in Dersim Municipal Building. Baydemir’s statement was as follows, “As I have stated previously, I have two mandates; one is my life given by God, and the other is the representation of my people. When the time comes, I will restore both of them. If the claims in Dersim are true, this is a slaughter rehearsal. To tell the truth, I have never asked and will never ask for mercy from the threats and intimidation against me. However, if you have evil intentions against me personally, please don’t let children or women to be damaged. I don't carry weapons. If you want to shoot me, you can easily do that as my location and working place are known to everybody. To try doing that within the community is beyond any moral.”
