Talks of BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) committee under the presidency of BDP Mardin MP and Foreign Affairs Chief Emine Ayna in the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) are continuing. BDP members had talks with Venice Commission executives.
Giving information about the contacts of BDP committee with political groups and administrative organizations, Emine Ayna stated that the committee informed European politicians of the education demand of Kurdish people in mother-tongue, 10 percent election threshold and the KCK (Kurdistan Democratic Confederation) case that will start on 18 October.
Ayna mentioned that the committee tried to express the demands of Kurdish people and democracy powers in PACE meetings, where they had to reach with their own possibilities and initiatives as they weren’t allowed for the formal delegation representing Turkey in PACE, despite being a political group in TBMM.
The committee under the presidency of Emine Ayna met up with Venice Commission executives too. It was reported that the committee compared notes with commission members about the election threshold and the new constitution.
The committee including BDP Europe representative Faik Yaðýzay also had a talk with rapporteur Josette Durrieux, who is preparing for visiting Turkey.
Emine Ayna will give a conference in Strasbourg Kurdish Culture Association this evening.
