Twelve people of BDP district commission members (Peace and Democracy Party) were detained by Batman police with simultaneous house raids in many neighborhoods. And 5 BDP members were detained at house raids in Ýstanbul.
While the doors of many houses were broken at the raids in Batman city centre, the houses were littered indoors. It caught the attention that the raids were carried on BDP district commission members, who have been doing referendum works. The names of 11 detainees are as follows; Veysi Taþan, Selahattin Akgül, Ýbrahim Acar, Abdurahman (surname unpublished), Þaban Teter, Bahattin Turhan, Emin Akkan, Mahmut Soner, Veysi Biçen, Evin (surname unpublished), Çekdar Yürek. It was stated that the number of detainees could be more.
And In Karayollarý neighborhood of Gaziosmanpaþa/Istanbul, houses reported to be of BDP members were raided in early morning hours. While Ýhsan Ant, Ercan Ant, Selahattin Kulik, Kemal Ezer and Ahmet Ant were detained and taken to Ýstanbul Police Office, the detention reasons have not been reported yet.
