During the Socialist International Council that started yesterday in New York, BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) met many leaders including Greece Prime Minister, Europan Socialist Party and French socialist Segolene Royal.
Global economic, Climate Change, Peace and Disarmament in Middle East, Nuclear Disarmament: these are some of the issues discussed at the meeting that started yesterday at UN building.
The meeting saw the participation of a committee under the presidency of Nazmir Gür, the USA representative of BDP. BDP committee held official talks with Germany, Greece, Denmark, Sweden Armenia and Palestine delegations. The committee also had talks with socialist PASOK leader, Greece Prime Minister George Papandreou, European Socialist Party (PES)Chairman and Denmark Ex-Prime Minister Andreas Fogh Rasmussen and with Segolene Royal, a major name of French Socialist Party who was the competitor of Nicolas Sarkozy at 2007 Presidential Election.
Nazmir Gür stated that the information files that were prepared with reference to the latest developments in Turkey were presented at the meetings.
