Children in Kandil launch aid campaign for Rojava
A group of children aged between 12 and 15 have launched humanitarian aid campaign for western Kurdistan, Rojava, in the Kandil region of southern Kurdistan.
The campaign which will last five days is attracting considerable attention from the local people in southern Kurdistan.
The eleven children leading and running the campaign are setting up stands at different spots in Media Defense Areas from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.
One of the stands was set up on Ranya-Diyana way where they are collecting aids from the drivers of the trucks and cars passing by.
Viyan Argeş and Derya Gültekin, two of the eleven children, called on Kurdish youths in four parts of Kurdistan to mobilize in solidarity with the Rojava resistance.
In another campaign recently launched, children in Kandil have also collected 5,200 signatures in the scope of the Freedom for Öcalan campaign demanding the liberation of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) leader who has been held under isolation since his capture on 15 February 1999. Children delievered the signatures to Freedom for Öcalan Committee.
