Clashes between Kurdish guerrillas and Turkish army units operating in Kelkit/Gümüþhane have been reported this morning.

Kelkit Mayor Muammer Duran stated that the clashes broke out near Karaçayýr village as Turkish army was proceeding with operations in Kelkit rural areas.

Duran claimed that 2 guerrillas lost their lives and one was injured during the clash. The operations in the region are continuing. The information about the clash given by the mayor hasn’t been confirmed by HPG (People Defence Forces) and local sources.
