Demonstrations demanding information on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s health and safety and the CPT to meet with him continue in Strasbourg, France.
A women’s committee met with the Council of Europe General Security Officer and the CPT General Security Officer as part of the mobilization.
The committee stated that babies and 95 year olds and thousands of people have participated in the demonstrations for 18 days, and that their common demand is to hear from Öcalan at once.
The committee stressed that the demonstrations will continue and thousands of Kurdistanis will hold a sit-in until Öcalan is heard from.
The CoE and the CPT general security officials said they have relayed the demands and will have an answer for the committee by tomorrow.
TENT DEMONSTRATION CONTINUES
Meanwhile, the tent demonstration held by Kurdistanis continue.
Kurdistanis started the day with the anthem “Çerxa Şoreşe”, and then held a roll count.
Kurdish women and youth from Bonn, Dortmund, Berlin and Switzerland were present in the demonstration today.
Kurdistanis returned from the CoE and CPT and listened to Kongra Gel Co-chair Remzi Kartal speak about political developments.
Kartal said, “In the Middle East and throughout the world, we must make ourselves a greater force with our own strength, without expecting aid from anybody. Our movement today is leading all the peoples of the Middle East. That is why Leader Apo’s life and freedom is of such interest to the Kurdish people and all the peoples in the region.”
Kurdistanis continue to chant “CPT to Imrali” and “Freedom for Öcalan” in front of the Council of Europe.
