Condolence tent set up in Maxmur for martyr Emine Kara

A condolence tent was set up in the Maxmur refugee camp for Evîn Goyi (Emine Kara), who was killed in the massacre that took place on 23 December in Paris.

A condolence tent was set up for Evîn Goyi (Emine Kara), a member of the KCK Executive Council and a leading figure of the women's movement, in the house of her family in Martyr Rustem Cudi Refugee Camp (Maxmur).

A large crowd visited the family and a minute's silence was held in memory of all the martyrs of the revolution.

Ishtar Assembly Coordination Member Nuran Sezgin made a speech on behalf of the camp residents and said: “Heval Evîn has struggled under difficult conditions throughout her life, never worrying for a day and never backing down. She took her place in the ranks of the struggle by making a promise to Leader Apo, the martyrs of the Kurdistan revolution and the Kurdish people. Heval Evîn also took a strong stance in Rojava.”

Sezgin continued: “With her efforts, stance and approach, she managed to win a place for herself in the hearts of everyone. For this reason, the enemy deliberately targeted Heval Evîn. The perpetrator may have been 69 years old, but he was just a pawn. If the Paris Massacre on 9 January 2013 had been clarified, this massacre would not have taken place.”

Abdullah Kara, who made a statement on behalf of the family, commemorated all the Kurdistan Freedom Martyrs and said: “The martyrs are our honor, our lives and our most sacred values. Martyr Evîn is no longer the martyr of a family. She is a martyr of the entire Kurdish people. We will fight this genocidal power system.”
