HDP's (Peoples' Democratic Party) Presidential Candidate Selahattin Demirtaş sent new messages from the Edirne prison he is currently held in.

The messages posted to Selahattin Demirtaş's Twitter account are as follows:

"June 24 will be the day we are freed from all our fears. We will live together. Without divisions, without polarization, in peace, we will get stronger in democracy. We will unite the eastern and western parts of our country in the same heart. We will prepare for the 100th anniversary of the republic with a great democratic transformation.

We will increase love, peace and respect, not hate, grudges or animosity. We will exalt hard work, bread and labor, not profiteering, corruption or bribery. We will make sweet honey out of our pain and create the Turkey of the future together. Because we are beautiful together. Without you it can't be, things can only change together with you.

The one man regime brings with it the greatest division. Only more democracy can hold us together, not the one man. I won't give up neither Manisa nor Mardin, neither Edirne nor Hakkari. So don't give them up either, my brothers and sisters. Let's hold each other's hands, because things can only change with you.

Everybody has made mistakes in the past. Let's learn our lesson from our relatives, our grandfathers who lay together in Çanakkale. Let's bravely lay our mistakes on the table. Let's be as equal, as honorable as our common values were in Çanakkale. Let's be a great country of democracy."
