Democratic Kurdish Community Centre opens in Winterthur, Switzerland

"Relying on patriotism, we will continue our resistance everywhere against the attacks that target the gains of the Kurdish people," said İsmail Kardaş, Co-Chair of the Democratic Kurdish Council in Switzerland.

Democratic Kurdish Community Centre (CDK) opened in Winterthur in the Zurich canton, where nearly 200 patriotic families reside.

Hundreds of people attended the opening of the CDK which is located at Ashale-Oberer Deutweg 4, 8400 Winterthur.

'WE WILL PROTECT OUR GAINS'

CDK Winterthur Co-Chair İbrahim Güner delivered a short speech during the opening ceremony and said: “Forming assemblies is important in terms of preserving the gains which have been made with a lot of effort. The opening of our association building is very important and meaningful for us since it will allow our people and our revolutionary friends to express themselves based on their own culture.”

'KURDS IN THE DIASPORA HAVE A MAJOR MISSION'

İsmail Kardaş, Co-Chair of the Swiss Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-S), who also attended the opening, addressed the Turkish invasion attacks in Kurdistan, stating: “Despite the threats of the Turkish state against South Kurdistan and Rojava, the resistance of the guerrillas has once again proved itself in the Zap region. The withdrawal of Turkish troops from Zap is a very important development. General elections will be held in Turkey soon. We, the Kurds living in the diaspora, have a major mission and responsibility to take the guerrilla achievement which has deeply shaken Turkey’s domestic politics a step further. Relying on patriotism, we will continue our resistance everywhere against the attacks that target these gains of the Kurdish people.”

After the speeches, the event continued with the celebration messages of revolutionary institutions from Switzerland and Turkey.
