Co-mayor of Amed’s (Diyarbakır) Yenişehir district municipality, who was deposed on 13 November 2019, had her flat raided by the police this morning. Diken is accused of “membership to an illegal organization” in the scope of two separate investigations.

Following the raid and a search in the house, Diken was taken to Diyarbakır Security Directorate.

Diken’s lawyer said that the detention, which came 4 months after the seizure of the municipality, was unlawful.
