Detention period extended for three HDP co-mayors
The co-mayors of usurped Derik, Mazıdağ and Savur municipalities will remain in custody for 4 more days.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Savur municipality co-mayor Gülistan Öncü, Derik municipality co-mayor Mülkiye Esmez and Mazıdağı municipality co-mayor Nalan Özaydın were taken into custody on November 15 in the scope of an investigation launched by Mardin Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Shortly after their detention, the co-mayors were dismissed and replaced by trustees.
Detention period has been extended for 4 days for the three co-mayors.
