DIHA (Dicle News Agency) reporter Vahap Iþ was beaten and detained by police while making news in Nusaybin.

The clashes erupted when the police intervened at the demonstration march against the increasing operations and the torture on HPG (People Defense Force) in Nusaybin/Mardin, are going on. Young demonstrators responded with stones to the police intervention with pressure water and gas bombs.

While the events are continuing in districts, DIHA reporter Vahap Iþ was prevented by police as he wanted to record the news event. With revilement and abuse, police impounded Iþ’s materials and detained him. With an unknown detention reason, Iþ was taken to the District Police Station. It was reported that a finger of Iþ was broken by police.
