After the Turkish government’s appointment of a trustee to the municipality of Batman province on Monday, all disinfection works have been suspended. For 24 hours no urban pandemic prevention has been taking place. The city hall has been surrounded by police, and the staff is not allowed to enter the building.

Contrary to other statements of the government, Turkey and Northern Kurdistan are said to be massively affected by the Corona pandemic, especially because of the proximity to Iran and Eastern Kurdistan.
