After Sirnak now some parts of Hakkari have been declared as military security zones and emergency law came into force. Security zones are closed to civilians.
Turkish General Staff reported that Ikiyaka Mountains in Hakkari province have been declared as military security zone for the period of 25 July- 1 September 2010.
In an another note published on the army website on 21 July Incebel Mountains in Beytussebap district of Sirnak province was also declared as security zone and closed to civilians from 25 July until 25 September.
It is reported that there is no legal basis for the Turkish army to declare some parts of the country as security areas and apply emergency law in these areas.
