Erdoðan to take legal action against WikiLeaks

Turkey's government party, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is preparing to take legal action over accusations against party leader Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan in US diplomatic cables that were released online by whistleblower website WikiLeaks.

Prime Minister Erdoðan has said that Turkey is considering legal options against claims made by US diplomats against him in confidential cables -- including claims that he has eight secret Swiss bank accounts.

The Prime Minister also strongly denied having any Swiss bank accounts. “I don’t have a single cent in Switzerland. If you can prove that I do, then I won’t stay in my position or even remain as a deputy. But will you continue to occupy your seats,” he asked, addressing WikiLeaks.
