ESP calls for ‘mass mobilization’ for the funerals of victims

Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) issued a statement on Suruç massacre and called on people to join the funerals to bid farewell in a spirit of mass mobilization.

Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) issued a statement on the bomb attack in Suruç that claimed the lives of 32 people and emphasized peoples’ reaction to the massacre. ESP stated that collective anger and determination for justice enabled the perpetrators to be caught red-handed, and the suffering of the oppressed brought people together and shed light on the path of peace, democracy and freedom forces’ united struggle and solidarity.

'ERDOĞAN IS THE MAIN PERPETRATOR OF THE MASSACRE’

ESP emphasized that the perpetrator of the massacre was the state and the main perpetrator was Erdoğan. ESP recalled AKP officials’ threats that voters chose chaos during the June 7 elections, and said that the massacre was a result of Erdoğan and AKP’s plans to bring chaos to Turkey in order to restore their hegemony which had been threatened by the victories of Rojava and Kobanê. ESP pointed out that Erdoğan’s statements on not allowing a Kurdish entity in northern Syria at all costs was a clear manifestation of the political goals of massacres such as the one in Suruç. ESP said that the military deployment on the border and the plans to invade Rojava exposed the true identities of the massacre’s perpetrators.

ESP highlighted that the massacre was inevitably connected with the Turkish Intelligence Agency (MIT) that has been sending guns and ammunition to gangs like ISIS and El Nusra, and the state efforts to conceal the content of trucks for ‘the security of the state’ became clearer after the massacre.

'SURUÇ WAS CHOSEN SPECIFICALLY'

ESP noted that ISIS could not operate in Suruç without the knowledge of MIT and state officials, and it was no coincidence that Suruç had been chosen for the attack. Pointing out that the state first tried to break the will for solidarity with Rojava Revolution and later initiated the debates on the establishment of a secure zone along the border, ESP underlined that the attack was an indication of the state’s war concept that aims to crush the Kurdish Freedom Movement by expanding the war across the region.

ESP ended its statement by calling all peoples to show solidarity for peace, freedom and justice, and come together to frustrate war plans and bid farewell to Suruç martyrs in a spirit of mass mobilization.
