The eleventh anniversary of the murders of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez in Paris will be marked with a European march in the French capital.

Buses are already reaching France from many European cities. 

Activists set off from London in a bus and several private cars. The bus is decorated with pictures of the victims of the two Paris massacres. 

A member of the Jiyan Women's Council in London said: "The French state and its judiciary remain inactive, and the massacre remains unsolved. As Kurdish women, we demand accountability and will not give up. Women like Sara and Evîn stand for the women's liberation struggle and inspire women worldwide. That’s why we’re going to the demonstration in Paris.”

Several buses set off to Paris from various Swiss cities.

Sakine "Sara" Cansız was a co-founder of the PKK, Fidan "Rojbîn" Doğan a representative of the KNK and Leyla "Ronahî" Şaylemez an activist in the Kurdish youth movement. They were killed on 9 January 2013 by a killer from the Turkish Secret Service MIT. He shot the three women dead at the Kurdistan Information Center in Paris. To date, no one has been punished.

The fact that this was a contract killing by MIT has been proven by documents, audio recordings and witness statements. The French domestic Secret Service is still treating the case as a state secret and is blocking the release of information.

The contract killer, Ömer Güney, who was arrested after the attack, died in prison under suspicious circumstances shortly before the trial began in December 2016.

Kurdish organizations have repeatedly warned the French authorities that further attacks were possible if those responsible for the triple killing and their accomplices were not punished.

Ten years later, on 23 December 2022, Evîn Goyî (Emine Kara), Mîr Perwer (Mehmet Şirin Aydın) and Abdurrahman Kızıl were shot in front of the Kurdish cultural center “Ahmet Kaya”, in the immediate vicinity of the Kurdistan Information Office.

Today, Kurds will take to the streets in Paris to demand that France fully investigate the murders and hold those behind the attacks accountable.

Members of the Kurdish community in other European countries have also announced their participation in the protest.
