Forty gang militants killed in Tal Abyad

Forty militants of the armed gang groups attacking the Kurdish region in Syria have been killed in clashes with YPG (People's Defense Units) since Wednesday.

According to the reports received from the region of clashes, militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham (ISIS) and the jihadist al-Nusra Front attacked the villages of Çelbê, Bir Kino, Sedê and Meha in the west of Tal Abyad.

Clashes broke out in the region as YPG (People's Defense Units) fighters responded to the attacks targeting the Kurdish territory. 15 militants of the armed groups were killed in the villages of Bir Kino, Çelbê and Meha, and 15 in the Sedê village. YPG also destroyed three vehicles the gang groups used.

The casualties of the Islamic groups have been rushed to hospitals in Turkey's Urfa province. According to local sources, three seriously wounded militants have died at hospitals.

On the other hand, five people in Urfa's Ceylanpınar (Serêkaniya Serxetê) district were wounded as a result of the fire opened from Tal Halaf, the area of gang groups attacking the Serêkaniyê city controlled by YPG in western Kurdistan.

Five people wounded in the bombing have been hospitalized at Ceylanpınar state hospital. Two rocket projectiles which also hit the district have caused an explosion in a central area.

The artillery and howitzer attacks from Tel Halaf started at around 4 a.m. Thursday morning. Following severe clashes, YPG repulsed the gang groups from the border gate area.

According to local sources, 30 members of the al-Nusra front have been killed in intense clashes going on in the border gate area.
