The 25-day-long march for the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan continued on its 16th day in the Villiers Le Bel suburb of the capital Paris.
25 people representing 25 years of captivity will be marching for 25 days and the enthusiasm of the people is increasing.
In a statement made in front of Villiers le Bel Municipality, the activists said that they will fulfil all their duties until the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is currently held under severe isolation on Imrali island, is achieved and invited the Kurdish people to never give up the struggle.
The activists invited all Kurds and their friends to flock to the Cologne rally on 17 February, calling for participation in the Garges Les Gonesses stage of the march tomorrow.
While leaflets about the march were distributed to the people in the neighbourhood, French people were also informed about the unlawful and inhuman isolation of Abdullah Öcalan in short briefings.
In the statements made in French through loudspeakers along the march route, it was stated that the Turkish state was trying to isolate the Kurdish People's Leader from the world through the isolation imposed on him, and it was stressed that the CPT, the Committee for the Prevention of Torture in Strasbourg, encouraged the Turkish state with its indifferent position and did not fulfil its duties.
The long march, which started on 22 January 2024 in front of the Kurdistan Information Office, where Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez were murdered on 9 January 2013, will end on 15 February in front of the CPT building in Strasbourg.
The Freedom Marchers will end the day with a theatre performance at the Kurdish Democratic Community Centre in Villiers le Bel and tomorrow's action area will be Garges les Gonesses, one of the northern suburbs of the capital Paris.
