Freedom Vigil in Strasbourg in its 604th week

The vigil for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, which has been carried out in Strasbourg, France since 2012, was taken over by a group from the Draguignan region of France in its new week.

Under the leadership of the Initiative for the Freedom of Abdullah Öcalan, a "Freedom Vigil" has been held in Strasbourg since 25 June 2012 to demand the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and to end the aggravated isolation imposed on him.

In the 604th week, 4 patriots from the Draguignan region of France took over the vigil. The previous week, three people from Marseille had led the action.

Abdurrahman Doğru, the spokesperson of the group, condemned the isolation and emphasised that their actions will continue until Abdullah Öcalan is freed.

Doğru called for protests everywhere, saying: "Europe is silent, CPT is silent. For this reason, every Kurdish individual should take action until our leader gains his freedom."
