According to the decision signed by the Minister of the Interior Ali Yerlikaya and the Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, the assets of 39 individuals and 19 organizations have been frozen. The decision to freeze assets was published in the Official Gazette.

Among those whose assets have been frozen is the Migration Monitoring Association (GÖÇİZDER), which was founded in Istanbul in 2016 to develop social solidarity and raise the demands of migration victims for a humane life.

The reasoning of the decision given by the Ankara 4th High Criminal Court claimed that GÖÇİZDER was “affiliated with an illegal organization.” The decision was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.

In addition, the assets of 39 individuals and 18 other organizations were frozen with the same decision accusing them of “financing illegal organizations.”

The closure case filed against GÖÇİZDER is being heard at the Bakırköy 15th Civil Court of First Instance.

The hearing was postponed to 11 October.

Göç İzleme Derneği (GÖÇİZDER) was established in Istanbul in 2016 with the aim of developing effective social solidarity among the masses of people subjected to migration in general and forced migration in particular, and to raise the demands of migration victims for a humane life.

In line with this purpose, it aims to support internally displaced persons in their pursuit of justice, to make the fundamental rights violations caused by forced displacement visible to the public, to raise awareness about the social, economic and psychological problems that citizens have experienced during the resettlement process, to recognise the grievances of people who have suffered serious human rights violations and to support them.
