Gezi Park: No Go Area
The order must be that nobody should speak at Gezi Park or, for what matter, get near to it. Police on Tuesday attacked demonstrators once again using a large number of tear gas and baton charging the crowd.
A large group of people had gathered near the İnönü Stadium to walk to Gezi Park, where they wanted to hold a press conference. Among the crowd were three young boys, who had come by foot from Antalya to Istanbul in what they had called "justice march", as well as Mersin BDP deputy Ertuğrul Kürkçü and Ali İhsan Eliaçık, from the Anti-Capitalist Muslims group.
Police attacked the crowd and one protester suffered an epileptic attack and had to be rushed into hospital.
