In a statement on Thursday, the Executive Committee of the Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH) called on the youth to organize within its ranks, saying the following:

"Young women, young workers, students, young unemployed:

The fierce struggle in Turkey and Kurdistan is affecting every segment of society and gradually escalating. The form, size and severity of war have now altered compared to previous times. This is a great war and we have come to a new threshold in it. We are in a process that is conducive to great upheavals.

'NO LIVING SPACE LEFT FOR YOUTH'

There is no living space left for the youth in the capitalist system. Young people are subjected to the reactionary ideology of fascism through the policies of oppression and intimidation. Following the introduction of anti-scientific education methods, it has become impossible to talk about academic education. University graduates join the army of the unemployed. Young women cannot walk freely in the streets. They are subjected to violence, even just walking. They are harassed and raped by familiar or unfamiliar people. They are murdered each day.

The capital and its representatives have no more tolerance for any voice that opposes them. Revolutionary, socialist and patriotic youth are attacked because they oppose this life. They are beaten, threatened, detained, arrested, murdered by the police, military and civilian fascist forces.

The solution against fascism lies in revolution.

It is enough! Time to just talk about our problems is long over. There is no solution within the system. A solution to all these deep-rooted problems is only possible through a radical change. It has become a necessity to put an end to the capitalist system and the domination of fascism.

We have significant duties to organize the war, recruit new fighters to our ranks, and realize the United Revolution. One must fight! We can't achieve anything without fighting. Whatever we have won, we have won through weapons. Revolutionary, patriotic, socialist youth in prisons, mountains and cities have defeated the counter-revolutionary forces by force.

Young communist and patriotic leaders like Deniz, Sinan, Mahir, Mazlum and İbrahim were at the forefront of the war against this reactionary system and became the hope of our peoples. They and their followers mobilized tens of thousands of people. They took part in the workers' strikes and the peasants' resistance. They treated the mass struggle on a revolutionary basis. They were not seduced by reformism and parliamentarism.

We are in the cities, mountains, factories, schools and streets. Turkey and the lands of Kurdistan are now witnessing the final phase of the history of the United Revolution. We will either destroy this state or it will take our breath away. We have no other way out. Against fascism, the only way out is united revolution.

The youth of the United Revolution must march forward with all their energy and determination to recruit all the youth who want to fight against fascism. Now together we are stronger, braver, more assertive. And we know that the situation is revolutionary! All we must do is go 'forward... further...'.

It is time for the youth on the revolutionary front of Kurdistan and Turkey to take up arms. It is time to realize the United Revolution.

In all revolts, the youth are at the forefront. Our youth showed great determination in the June Uprising, the 6-8 October Kobanê uprising and the self-government resistance. We believe in our youth and we trust that they will play a leading role in building the united revolution.

We call on the youth to join the barricades on the streets, the militia in cities, and the guerrillas in the mountains in the HBDH ranks.”
