The hunger strike at the Kurdish Democratic Society Center in Strasburg which began on the December 17, 2018, continues on the 37th day. Yesterday, January 21, hundreds of individuals from Germany, France, Switzerland and the Netherland paid visits to the hunger strikers, and expressed their support.
Members of the Paris Socialist Women (SKB), media staff from the Çira TV, tens of Kurds from Germany’s Sachsen, Bremen, Mannheim, Duisburg, Kehl and Offenburg cities yesterday the hunger strikers visited. Moreover, Kurds from the Netherlands, and Switzerland’s Geneva, Lausanne and Sion cantons paid visit to Strasburg strikers.
Mehmet Ali Yilmaz spoke on behalf of the group from Switzerland and said that the hunger strikes to protest the isolation imposed on the Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Ocalan were devoted. “Whatever responsibilities are required, the Kurdish patriots will shoulder their duties,” said Yilmaz.
Former MP Kemal Aktaş and members of the Kurdish Alliance Community from Alsace region in France, similarly visited the hunger strikers and expressed their solidarity.
The two artists who were part of the visiting group, Garîp Nûrhak and Sîmar, sang for the hunger strikers.
