Hunger strike to end on Sunday with march

Bingol Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Branch has launched a hunger strike to protest against the arrests of the ten peace delegates from the Democratic Solution and Peace Group. The hunger strike will last two days and will be staged in the party's building.

Many people, including Karliova Mayor Ferit Çelik and chairs of BDP Karliova and Solhan Branches, are taking part in the initiative. They opened banners with “Shameful, sinful and cruel: Enough is enough” writtein on them, and joined the hunger strike.

Halis Yurtsever, head of BDP Bingol Branch, addressed the hunger strikers and supporters: “Why have the peace delegates been arrested? The AKP government want to show us that they are playing with Kurds, they are not honest about the democratic opening. Kurds have never bowed to cruelty and never will.”

The hunger strike is going to end after a march scheduled for Sunday at noon.
