According to figures released by official authorities in Van, 50 people have contracted coronavirus and 7 have died. In addition, dozens of people in Van and its districts are under observation in hospitals with suspicion of coronavirus.

A patient who was hospitalized for 5 days with sympotms of coronavirus stated that he was kept in a single room and added: "Neither the doctor nor the nurse, or any other hospital worker came to my room. I couldn't even see who brought the food. The person bringing the meal opens the door and closes the door immediately after leaving the meal inside. We are not treated as patients. We cannot have contact with anyone. Even if the patients here are good, their spirit is affected by the negative environment in the hospital. Nobody here provides psychological support.
