A delegation of the ‘International Delegation Against Isolation’, which consists of 36 lawyers, journalists and academics from 7 different countries to protest the aggravated isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, continues to hold meetings in Ankara on the third day of an official visit to Turkey.
The delegation on Friday attended a meeting at the Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD). Lawyers from the Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) and Serhat Eren, Co-Spokesperson of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Law and Human Rights Commission, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting at the ÇHD, the lack of information about Öcalan for the last 22 months and the crackdown on his lawyers were addressed.
During the meeting at the Social Law Association, the problems experienced by lawyers in Turkey were addressed.
The delegation also held a meeting at the Human Rights Centre of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TBB). Ozan Ergül, Secretary General of the TBB Human Rights Centre, attended the meeting which was closed to the press.
