Iraqi Commander: We are in the last phase of the Mosul operation

Iraqi army antiterror commander Ebdulfenî Esedî gave information on the Mosul operation and said: “We are in the last phase of the Mosul operation.”

Iraqi army antiterror commander Ebdulfenî Esedî spoke to Rojnews on the Mosul operation carried out by the Iraqi army with aerial support from the US-led coalition and said: “Mosul will be completely under control in a few days.”

Esedî said ISIS gangs lost their ability to fight and resist in Mosul, and added: “There are only a handful of gangs left in the Old Mosul area, and those have been surrounded already.”

Esedî also gave some informatin on the advance of the operation and said: “Iraqi forces took the Farûqyan neighborhood under control. Our forces are marching to the Tigris river. We are in the last phase of the operation to clear Mosul of ISIS gangs.”

ISIS gangs have occupied Mosul since June 10, 2014 and the operation to liberate the city was launched on October 17, 2016.
