The KCDK-E co-presidency Council issued a written statement to celebrate 1 May, International Workers' Day, saying; "On this 1 May, when the coronavirus pandemic has paralyzed the capitalist system, a struggle for labor and freedom is needed more than ever."
The statement added: "We celebrate International Workers' Day at a time when wars continue, workers are stripped of their rights, the unemployed are facing the worst, while social rights, equality, democracy and nature are destroyed. Capitalist modernity, which has been investing in war, weapon, skyscrapers was paralyzed by the coronavirus."
The statement continued: "AKP-MHP fascism and the Erdogan dictatorship are plaguing humanity and democracy in Turkey and are the biggest obstacle to the labour movement in the Middle East.
The KCDK-E ended its remarks by calling on "our patriotic people, the revolutionary, democratic, enlightened opposition groups to work for unity and increase the resistance and democratic struggle in these days when the coronavirus pandemic threatens human life. Let's create a world where labor is liberated and a free life begins."
