KCK's Diyar Xerib commemorated in Athens

The march ended in front of the Turkish consulate where a minute's silence to pay tribute to Xerib and the martyrs of freedom was held. 

KCK Presidential Council member Diyar Xerib (Helmet) was commemorated in Athens. Xerib lost his life during a Turkish air strike on Qandil on 5 July.

A march in Athens was organised to protest the invasion of South Kurdistan carried out by the Turkish state.

Hundreds of people gathered in front of the Polytechnic University of Athens carrying photos of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan as well as of KCK Presidential Council Member Diyar Xerib.

The activists marched towards the Turkish consulate flying the PKK and KCK flags. The march was joined by Kurds as well as left, socialist and anarchist groups.

Sedat Tatvan spoke on behalf of the Greek People's Assembly and condemned the invasion attacks carried out by the Turkish state.

Tatvan stressed that the South Kurdistan government should fulfill its responsibility in what refers to the invasion attacks.

Commemorating Xerib, Tatvan said that the forces that carried out the occupation attacks and those collaborating with them, would be on the black pages of history.
