Following Interior Minister Beþir Atalay’s direction to clear away the amanoses, Turkish army is setting the forest lands in Hatay on fire.

2 hectares forest land was damaged in the fire set by soldiers in Gürpýnar site of Hassa/Hatay. With support from neighborhood cities, fire-brigade teams tried to fight the fire in steep-lands only after the land reduced to ash.

Concerning the fire, Forestry Department Manager Mehmet Harbi said that the fire, which started in two separate points, spread on a 5 hectares area and was effective on 2 hectares.
