KCK Executive Council member Evîn Goyî (Emine Kara), Kurdish Artists Union Tev Çand member Mîr Perwer and patriot Abdurrahman Kızıl, were killed in the attack on Ahmet Kaya Cultural Center in Paris, on 23 December 2022. The European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E) and the European Kurdistan Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) made a joint statement and called on the Kurdish people and their friends to attend the commemoration and farewell ceremony to be held on 3 January 2023.
The statement said: "The AKP-MHP fascism could not get results in 2022, despite the attacks it carried out in the region of Zap, the chemical attacks against the freedom guerrillas, the attempts to invade Rojava and South Kurdistan, as well as the systematic torture policies it developed against Leader Apo. The AKP-MHP fascism directly targeted the Kurdish Women's Freedom struggle in the person of Evîn Goyî on 23 December 2022.
A great and organized political-social resistance against the genocidal war of the Turkish state is essential today. It is time to respond to the fascist Turkish state, which is afraid of the organized power of Kurdish women and its people, from Europe, together with our friends, and especially from France.”
The statement added: “It is our historical role to expose the complicity of France with the Turkish government. The French government has covered up the truth about the killings of three Kurdish politicians 10 years ago, on 9 January 2013.”
Funeral ceremony on 3 January
The statement said that “a memorial service will be held on 3 January 2023 at 12pm for Evîn Goyî (Emine Kara), artist Mir Perwer, a member of the Kurdish Artists Union TEV-ÇAND, and Abdurrahman Kızıl, an indomitable veteran of the Kurdistan Freedom cause.
We call on all our patriotic people and friends to attend the commemoration ceremony.”
Call to attend march on 7 January
On 7 January 2023, a rally and march will be held to call on the French government to stop covering the 2013 and 2022 killings. We will protest the Turkish government on 7 January."
