Kurdish to be taught at US university

Middle Tennessee State University has included a Kurdish language course in its program to start by 2010 autumn.

Stating that they receive the support of Kurdish people in Tennessee about language, MTSU Assistant Professor Kari Nelly remarked that they have already started to create the classes.

The courses will be directed by Deniz Ekici from Exeter University of England, who will be teaching Kurmanci dialect to the participators.

With nearly 14 thousands of Kurdish people living in Nashville city, Tennessee is hosting the largest Kurdish community in USA.
