Kurdish Women Institutions in Europe said that women will overthrow the savage AKP mentality just as the women of YPJ have brought down the barbaric reign of ISIS gangs in a joint statement regarding the brutal torture carried out on the body of the YJA STAR guerrilla Kevser Eltürk.

European Kurdish Women’s Institutions has issued a joint statement regarding the torture carried out on the body of the YJA STAR guerrilla, whose body was undressed naked by security forces and exposed in the town centre after having been executed in the Varto district of Muş.

European Kurdish Women’s Movement (TJKE), International Kurdish Women’s Representation, Kurdish Women Peace Bureau (CENI), Utamara Women’s Centre, World Free Women’s Association, Roj Women and Kurdish women’s assemblies across Europe have strongly condemned the torture carried out on the body of Kevser Eltürk in their statement.

Women stressed in their statement that the most savage face of the femicide is today concretised in the male dominant mentality of the AKP-ISIS.

The statement of women said the rapist mentality, which got mobilized against all women on the personality of Kevser Eltürk (Ekin Wan), has started a war on the basis of femicide against women in order to break down the legitimate defence that Kurdish women wage in a way that makes them the hope of all women across the world.

The statement stressed that the AKP government, which declared war on people for its own political interest, in fact declared war against all humanity by declaring war against the Kurdish people, adding that the AKP government aims to intimidate the Kurdish women’s struggle. “YJA STAR guerrilla, Ekin Wan is the symbol of self-defence and symbolises the resistance of free women”, said the statement.

The statement drew attention to that it is the bodies of the women that are firstly and mainly attacked and targeted in all wars, and recalled the years of 90’s where the Turkish security forces raped, tortured, exposed naked the bodies of women in Kurdistan after executing them, adding that the Turkish state carried out the most dirty war in the history.

The women emphasised that the AKP and its male dominant mentality could not accept the Rojava revolution, which is in fact a women’s revolution and the electoral victory of the HDP, which programmatically includes the women’s liberation struggle, and added that the torture carried out on the body of Kevser Eltürk is by no means coincidental and demonstrates the male dominant mentality of the AKP.

“What has become obvious is that the immorality has become concretised in the mentality of the AKP-ISIS”, underlined the statement.

The statement said that the Kurdish Women’s Movement takes the exposition policy of the soldiers and police force of the AKP government against the bodies of women as the concrete expression of their savagery.

Women stressed that what is trying to be done is to break down the will of women who are waging a strong resistance against all kinds of male dominance and to intimidate them.

The statement said the Kurdish women would continue their resistance and struggle against this male dominant mentality of the AKP-ISIS, just as they waged a strong struggle against in Shengal and Rojava. The Kurdish women in Europe called on all the women for strong participation in all the actions against the dirty war carried out by the AKP and to join the democratic confederal system in order to obtain their freedom and peace.
