Leyla Güven picked up her DTK work where she left it

HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven has begun working with the DTK after been sworn in parliament.

Co-chair of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven, has retaken her political activities with the DTK after being sworn in Parliament earlier this week.

Güven called off the hunger strike she had launched on 8 November 2018 demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan after 200 days of fast.

She called the hunger strike off following the call by Öcalan himself on 26 May.

Güven began her parliamentary activities by been sworn in the Assembly on July 10, and then came to Amed.

Güven went to DTK, that she co-chairs and that she had not visited for 18 months, as she had been detained on 31 January 2018.

At the DTK premises she met with members of the DTK Co-Presidency Council and other executives.

Family visits

Güven will visit the family and the grave of Zülküf Gezen, who fell a martyr on 17 March in Tekirdağ F Type Prison No. 2 in Prison where he was detained to protest the isolation of İmralı.

The HDP deputy has a list of visits to families she want to pay tribute to and these will be her first commitments.
