Six civilians were killed and dozens injured as a result of the air strikes by the Turkish state on Sheladize, in South Kurdistan, on 23 January 2019. The deaths were commemorated with a ceremony in London. A large number of young people attended the commemoration organized by Bashur and Rojava youths living in England.
Photographs of those who lost their lives in the Sheladize and Paris massacres were hung in the hall and a video about the Sheladize massacre was shown.
The ceremony was attended by the witnesses of the Sheladize massacre, who reiterated their condemnation of the Turkish state's invasion attempts against Kurdistan. The KDP was asked to end its cooperation with the Turkish state. The witnesses said: "After the Turkish state carried out the Sheladize massacre, the KDP attacked the people instead of standing by them. They tortured the people and dozens of Kurds were tortured and shot by the KDP."
