Kurdish activists have completed the 14th stage of the 25-day-long march demanding "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Justice for Kurds" as part of the international campaign "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a Political Solution to the Kurdish Question".
The Democratic Kurdish Council of France (CDK-F) and the Kurdish Women's Movement in France (TJK-F) launched on 22 January a 25-day-long march for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan from Paris to Strasbourg, where the European Union institutions are located. The march is taking place under the slogan "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Justice for Kurds" as part of the international campaign "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a Political Solution to the Kurdish Question", which was launched worldwide on 10 October 2023. The march continued on its 14th day through the town of Bondy, east of Paris.
Activists made speeches and chanted slogans demanding the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. At the same time, the people in the neighbourhood were informed about the isolation of Öcalan through loudspeakers and leaflets.
Speaking after today’s stage of the march, Sahin Polat, Co-chair of the Democratic Kurdish Council of France, said: "We will continue this struggle until Leader Öcalan is freed and the status of Kurdistan is recognised."
Polat invited everyone to join the march in Drancy tomorrow and emphasised their determination in the struggle.
Tomorrow's stage of the long march will start from the Drancy Community Centre at 13:00.
