March in Paris demands freedom for Abdullah Öcalan

Demonstrators gathered in front of the Corbeil Municipality in Paris and demanded the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan for a solution to the problems that have become a deadlock.

Kurdish activists gathered in front of Corbeil Municipality in the Île-de-France region in Paris, demanding the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and an end to the isolation imposed on him.

Many people participated in the march to Corbeil railway station, chanting "Bijî Serok Apo", [Long Live Leader Öcalan], "Bijî berxwedana gerîla" [Long Live the Guerrilla Resistance] and "Bijî berxwedana zindanan" [Long Live the Prison Resistance].

The demonstration organised by Evry Democratic Kurdish Community Centre and Revolutionary Youth Movement was followed by a rally in front of the train station. After a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, speeches were made.

Speakers pointed out that Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is an important actor to achieve a democratic solution to the Kurdish question, that peace and tranquility cannot come to the Middle East without his involvement. The speakers stressed that none of the problems that have become a deadlock in the Middle East can be solved unless the isolation imposed on Öcalan is lifted, that the source of all wars, problems and contradictions in the Middle East is the fact that the Kurdish question is left unresolved and that the only perspective of a solution is in the democratic ideas put forward by Abdullah Öcalan.
