Memorial in Marseille for Roboski, Freedom guerrillas and Paris Martyrs

A memorial was held in Marseille for 34 people murdered 11 years ago in Roboski, 11 Freedom guerrillas murdered with chemicals, and Evîn Goyî, Abdurrahman Kızıl and Mir Perwer murdered in Paris.

Eleven Kurdistan Freedom guerrillas who were martyred as a result of the chemical weapons attacks of the Turkish state in the Medya Defense Areas, 34 Roboski martyrs, mostly children, who were killed by the bombardment of Turkish warplanes 11 years ago, and Evîn Goyî (Emine Kara), Abdurrahman Kızıl and Mir Perwer (M. Şirin Aydın) who were martyred in Paris were commemorated in Marseille.

The memorial, which was held at the Marseille Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DKTM) and started with a minute’s silence, continued with a video and speeches.

The families of the martyrs said: “The culprits are not revealed, no one explains the truth, the cases are closed. Those who pursue these cases and the truth are murdered, threatened, kidnapped, detained, arrested and intimidated. Unfortunately, there are thousands of examples of this. The Roboski Massacre has been covered up from the beginning. The future cannot be built and a just order cannot be established without confronting and addressing the past. The truth of what we live is impunity, war, the absence of justice by the state. Unless Roboski is enlightened and the events are clearly explained to the public, there will be no democratization in the country's politics. Roboski is the test of the state and power. The path of 'Peace and Justice' in these lands will definitely and first pass through Roboski. Roboski is the shame, the bleeding wound and the quest for justice of these lands. The Roboski Massacre, the killing of 11 guerrillas by chemical weapons, are the clearest form of the massacre policies carried out by the occupying Turkish state. Wherever we are, we will continue to resist these policies of massacre and occupation, and we will continue to take care of our cause and our martyrs.”
