New Social Contract by Democratic Autonomous Administration of NE Syria to be presented in Madrid

The New Social Contract approved by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria will be presented in Madrid.

After several years of analysis and dialogue between the different communities and social organizations in northern and eastern Syria, on 12 December 2023, the new Social Contract of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria (DAANES) came into force.

The Social Contract will be presented in Madrid on 1 and 2 February at the Anselmo Lorenzo Foundation and the Marx Madera Social Center.

On 7 February there will be a presentation in Lleida at the University of Lleida, pl. Victor Siurana.

The presentations will be made by Mizgin Ahmed, a member of the drafting committee of the Rojava Social Contract and spokesperson for the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Europe.

The long fight against the Islamic State that allowed the liberation of territories in Northern and Eastern Syria, with social components of various ethnicities and religions, required a new constitutional charter for the Democratic Autonomy derived from the Rojava Kurdistan Revolution that favored coexistence among so many diverse peoples, as well as to reconfirm the region's membership in a long-desired Syrian Democratic Republic.
