The Governor of Nineveh province Atheel al-Nujaifi survived an assassination attempt that targeted his convoy on Sunday, August 8, in the city of Mosul.

A police source in Nineveh, said that two explosive devices blew up targeting the car convoy of Nineveh province Governor al-Nujaifii while he was on his way to his office in al-Dawasa area near the governorate building in downtown Mosul. led to the injury of two officers and policeman who were at the scene.
